This blog is a convenient way to keep you updated on the progress of Hearts of Haiti's projects. Our current focus is at "L'Orfelinat L'Enfant de L'Espoir" (O.E.E.)- a group of orphans that we found living in tents near Leogane, Haiti last June. We are now building a school called "L'Espoir de Haiti" for the children at the orphanage and the neighboring tent city.

I am staying in Grand Goave, just up the highway from Leogone.I was interested in seeing what you are doing. Could you provide directions to your site?
Thanks
David Dale
Hi Dave,
The school and orphanage are located in between Leogane and Gressier, behind the Korean UN base. Turn at the dirt road (heading west) that goes by the Korean UN base and follow it out until it ends in about a kilometer and you'll be at the O.E.E. I haven't been around for over a month, we're out of funding. Trying to turn things over to another organization to continue with the vision. Feel free to stop by and have a look anytime, the orphanage/school director Jean Marc is always around.
Thanks for the info.Iwill definetly check it out.Sorry for the lack of funding. I had the priviledge to address some comunity leaders today in Grand Goave and was spreading the word about earthbag construction. There was a lot of interest, I think I will try to organize a workshop. I have never put up a complete building but am familiar with the progress. My regular job is doing straw bale construction. Not much straw here but earthbags might be the answer. Any help you could share eg tips, books etc would be appreciated. The organization I am with is called Haiti Arise. My email is 2dranch624@gmail.com
Thanks
David Dale
