Kids from the New Life Children's Home

Here are some pictures of some of the children from the New Life Children's Home where I have been staying in Port au Prince.
Shneider is one of my favorites. He's very smart and loves to talk, but you have to watch out because he has sneaky hands that find their way straight into your pockets to look for money if you're not careful!

Enjoying a mango under the shade of a mango tree.

Some of the special needs kids hanging out in the shade. They're not able to go to school.

There are a few of the special needs kids that have enlarged heads. The sad thing is that they appear to be developmentally normal, but they can't go to school because of their disability.

This cutie is always smiling at everyone, which exposes many dark cavities in her teeth

This poor little girl has some sort of respiratory problem, as noted from her deep howling wheezes. They told me that it's asthma, but it's definitely more serious than that. She loves to be held, which seems to be the only time she gets some relief.

Some of the cute little toddlers that I love to hold...

This is the school on site that the younger children study at. The older children go outside the orphanage to study.
