Water Filtration Units

I joined a couple of Sustain Haiti volunteers and went up into the mountains to take some water filters to a village where they were all drinking out of this stream. It doesn't look too bad from the picture, but there were more people living up stream from this village and there's no sewage system and they let their livestock graze freely, so you can imagine the contaminants in the water. It took over two hours in 4wd to get to the village called Bodain. It was a beautiful drive.

We set up one filter inside a school and left two more for these men to install by the stream after we left. Each filter can purify 80 gallons of water per day for ten years.
